What do you think about Lamentations, is that poetry? 

Is Genesis some kind of symbolic poetry? 
Genesis 6 mentions the men of reknown and that would be consistent with Genesis 1- 6. The fact the writer says the earth was without form and void this means they were able to see it from where ever they were during the creation of it. Its poetry if there is such a thing as symbolic poetry. There fore the story could have come from a group of beings who believed they were created by the universe and put it in story form. Looking at it through the lense of indigenous people instead of colonial mind could provide more understanding of the text.
